The Beistle Company throughout its history, in addition to producing seasonal holiday decorations and paper party goods and novelties, did commercial printing and custom work including advertising specialties. During the second world war when regular commercial work and paper supplies were short, in order to keep the business intact and the factory open, they contracted with the US government for miscellaneous work in support of the war effort. Their long assembly tables, for instance, were used to pack parachutes, and with their expertise in working converting paper they made artillery shells and grenade bodies for training exercises from tightly wound kraft and newsprint and produced waterproof packaging used by other military contractors.

These are examples of press and die proofs of some of the items from their custom commercial work and advertising specialties.
